A DIF (Deck Integrated Fire Fighting) system, also known as DIFFS, is a fire suppression system designed for helipads and helidecks. It’s typically the primary firefighting system on these surfaces and can be activated manually or automatically. When activated, it discharges a foam/water solution through nozzles installed on the deck, creating an effective spray pattern to extinguish fires.
DIFF systems can extinguish a major spill fire on a helideck within 15 seconds, with some tests showing extinguishment in under 10 seconds.
The system is customised to meet specific project requirements, including compliance with safety standards like UKCAA CAP437.
